My working thesis for a paper I will one day write!

OK so a thesis being as i am one of the few people in here that isn't some sort of English or education major my definition of a thesis might be totally wrong but Shannon said the answer to the question we will be asking in our paper that we haven't wrote yet, anyway my question is probably going to be something about the Jin Jang/ Danny Whiteboy identity crisis so the answer would be i guess to show the audience the trouble CHIN-KEE causes Danny and maybe correlate that to an internal rather than an external struggle as it was in the book (i know i am get no points for creativity at this point but i don't know what else to write about) anyway this is supposed to be a close reading so i don't really know how i would explain all of this in a few brief panels i think it develops over most of the book there fore i think i may have to change anyways input from the class on whether they like it or should scrap it would be beneficial and don't worry you can be honest i wont hunt you down or something... >.>

Good thesis, mine is similar. The struggle between Jin and Chin-Kee is definitely external, but also certainly internal, with Jin in such great denial of his identity.

dont be so hard on yourself about the paper! haha you will do good on it!
I think your thesis will be good; You should put it on question format though =)
I think it will be interesting for you to research on jin/danny's internal and external struggles from Chinkee!!

I think that the general idea is good, but I wouldn't worry about the "answer" right now. That will come as you write your paper. Focus on "what is my question?"

I agree with your classmates. Focusing on a solid question, along with choosing a specific group (small group) of panels you want to work with is the first step. I like your idea of examining Chin-kee in relation to Danny/Jin. In a way, Danny/Jin = Chin-kee, at least the parts about himself that he does not want to be associated with, or the ways in which society misrepresents him. Once you know "where" you want to write from, careful study of this "place" in the text should help you develop a thesis (just a fancy word for the opinion that you will put forward in your paper regarding the text you chose). Off to a good start :)
Good Luck!
